Does the 11 go there? Brum blogger Jon needs you!

One of Birmingham’s best known bloggers, Jon Bounds, has a challenge for the people of Birmingham.

Social Media Consultant Jon, 33, from Moseley, is looking for people to spend a total of eleven hours on Birmingham’s iconic No.11 on 11th November and record their experiences on a special site elevenbus.co.uk

People interested in taking part can register online beforehand and arrange to meet other participants on the bus. They can also purchase a specially designed Does the eleven go there? T Shirt to identify themselves when they board the number 11.

To join in with the event people need to board the 11C at 11am and get off at 10pm. People can get on and off the bus as many times as they like as long as they return within one hour.

Organiser Jon Bounds explains: "The eleven has always held a fascination for me, I've lived all over Birmingham but never further than a walk away from the route. The "does the eleven go there?" T shirt quote came from a friend of mine who did a lot of agency work. He always asked two questions of any job - "what are the hours?" and "does the eleven go there?

I am interested in creating a fitting document of our city and am hoping to get like minded people to document their Birmingham and what it means to them.

Nearer the time I'll be asking some of those people who have decided to take part to talk a little about what the bus route and the city mean to them - so it'll be interesting to see if it changes after a day going round and round the city.

I'm really hoping that people will use the day to record their thoughts about Birmingham in different ways, we've got a number of photographers, writers and bloggers but I'm also hoping that someone will take the chance to make a tapestry or knit something - or even create a huge painting."

Mark Kipling, Area Manager for the Acocks Green garage, home of the No.11, said: "We’re proud to be home of the number 11 which links Birmingham along its route. We hope the event will not only attract regular users of the number 11 but also people who have never tried the service to view Birmingham through this iconic bus route. We wish Jon all the best for the 11/11/11 event and will be encouraging staff at National Express West Midlands to take part too."
