| Realtime Information
Travel West Midland has invested in new technology to improve passenger information. As part of the Birmingham AVL project RTI (RealTime Information) is now available on selected TWM routes operated by Birmingham Central, Lea Hall, Yardley Wood (50 and 50A only) and Perry Barr (33 only) garages.
There are 3 new ways to find out when your bus is due:
At the stop
208 digital displays have been installed at bus stops and 14 LCD-style screens are now available at main shopping centres, hospitals and travel shops.
Each screen displays ‘Real Time information’ for the next departures due from the stop so you can check how long it will be before your bus arrives.

By SMS (text messaging)
Around 200 stops have been equipped with new signs showing the ‘bus stop code’ – a seven character code that allows you to receive the times of the next buses due at that stop on your mobile phone.

Either check the ‘bus stop code’ at the bus stop or click here to look it up on the bus stop stop lists . Once you have the code for your stop simply type it into an sms message on your phone and send it to 84268 – within 15 seconds you will receive a reply telling you the next departures from that stop in Real Time (where available) or scheduled time for services not fited with RTI.
The service is charges at 25p for a return text plus the cost of your outgoing text from your mobile provider.
Click here to check whether this service is available for your route and to look up your bus stop code.
