Temporary Diversions

The following temporary diversions are currently in operation within the West Midlands.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that these diversions may cause you. They are all beyond our control but we are working closely with the local councils and service providers to keep disruption to our services and passengers to an absolute minimum. Thank you for your patience.

Harborne, High Street / Harborne Park Road Junction

Resurfacing
Services Affected : 11A, 11C, 29, 29A
Saturday and Sunday, 27 and 28 March 2010 - from approximately 1900 on Saturday until 1600 on Sunday


Harborne Park Road will be closed at this location, and 3-way temporary traffic lights will be in place.

Service 11A: from Lordswood Road buses will run via War Lane, Northfield Road, Quinton Road, Harborne Lane to rejoin the normal route.

Service 11C: from Harborne Lane buses will run via Quinton Road, Northfield Road and War Lane to Lordswood Road and the normal route.

Service 29 towards the City Centre: from Harborne Park Road, buses will run via St Mary’s Road, Abbey Road, Metchley Lane and Harborne Road then normal route.

Service 29 from the City Centre is not affected.

Birmingham City Centre (Aston University), Aston Street

Installation of utility connections to a new development

Buses towards City Centre and Ladywood: from Lister Street buses will run via Holt Street, Aston Road, Corporation Street and Lancaster Circus onto James Watt Queensway rejoining the normal route.

Landsdowne Road / Hurst Green Road

Resurfacing
Services Affected : 88, 449
Wednesday, 3 March 2010 (Monday-Friday 0900-1600 only) - for 3 weeks (approx)


Service 88 towards Blackheath will follow the normal route to Wolverhampton Road and Causeway Green Road before continuing into Penncricket Road, then Cakemore Road, Nimmings Road and the normal route.

Service 88 from Blackheath: from Nimmings Road buses will run via Cakemore Road and Penncricket Road to Causeway Green Road.

Service 449 towards Brandhall will follow the normal route to Wolverhampton Road and Causeway Green Road before continuing via Pound Road, Wolverhampton Road and Queensway to Brandhall Interchange and the normal route.

Service 449 from Brandhall: from the Interchange buses will run via Queensway, Wolverhawmpton Road and Pound Road to Causeway Green Road and the normal route.

Rubery, New Road

Sewer replacement (continuing project)

Buses towards Great Park: from Bristol Road South buses will run via Leach Green Lane, Cock Hill Lane, Deelands Road and Callowbrook Lane to rejoin the normal route.

Buses towards Longbridge: from Callowbrook Lane buses will run via Deelands Road, Cock Hill Lane and Leach Green Lane to Bristol Road South where they will rejoin the normal route.

Birmingham, Gooch Street between Barford Street and Bissell Street

Monday, 8 February 2010 - for 8 weeks (approx.)


Buses from City Centre: buses will continue along Sherlock Street then run via Belgrave Middleway to the traffic island at Haden Circus, returning along Belgrave Middleway to rejoin normal route at Longmore Street.

Buses towards City Centre: from Longmore Street buses will run along Belgrave Middleway to the traffic island then run via Sherlock Street to rejoin normal route.

Waverley Road

Emergency water main repairs
Services Affected : 28B
Monday 26 October 2009 until further notice


Service 28B towards Small Heath will operate from Coventry Road via Wordsworth Road terminating on Wordsworth Road.


Service 28B towards Great Barr will operate as above turning at Wordsworth Road/Golden Hillock Road island.
