Travel West Midlands (formerly operating as West Midlands Travel) was established as a company on 26th october 1986 and took over the fleet of buses operated by West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive.

One of the largest bus operators in Europe with over 500 bus routes, Travel West Midlands operates a fleet of 1,600 buses and carries nearly one million passengers every working day.

TWM's comprehensive network provides links throughout the West Midlands conurbation, with 89% of the population living within 250 metres of a bus stop.

TWM has an extensive range of Travel Cards and seasons tickets which are sold through the Company's Travel Card and Information Centres and a network of over 250 local agents.

All new vehicles bought since 1998 have been low-floor, easy access design. 70% of the Travel West Midlands fleet are easy access buses

In mileage terms, the TWM operated Outer Circle 11 service is one of Europe's longest bus routes covering nearly 42 kilometres.

TWM buses travel and equivalent of more than 65 times around the world in one week

Travel West Midlands buses carry over 3,200 CCTV camera, 192 buses now carry the innovative 'CrystalEyes' CCTV system. These systems are introduced as part of the Operation Safer Travel partnership.
